This is an annual day where we partner with KHS staff and students to beautify the school campus that we both call home, as well as the surrounding Linda Vista community! We will work side by side on cleaning, painting and construction projects.
Our goal for Shine Day is to build community, serve our church and the school, and take pride in our campus by caring for it. Free BBQ lunch! Family friendly projects available.

To volunteer at Shine Day, all you need to do is arrive at 8:30AM with a smile and a heart ready to serve, sign up for a project, and get to work! Here's a few more details on the day.
8:30-8:45am: Arrive, choose your work project at the volunteer check-in tent
8:45-1:00pm: Work projects
1:00-2:00pm: Lunch - Free BBQ!
2:00-3:00pm: Finish remaining work projects and clean up**
**If possible, please be willing to serve with your team until your project is complete.
*You can sign up for a project that requires the supplies you brought, or loan your supplies to another volunteer for the day.
Is it okay if I come late?
If you are able to arrive on time at 8:30am, please do so. But if you cannot arrive until later, we would still love to have you come and serve! Keep in mind that we are hoping to finish up before lunch at 1:00pm, so if you are arriving later in the day, you may find that we have completed most of our work projects.
I forgot what supplies I signed up to bring... what should I bring?
Anything! Everything! We will be doing a lot of cleaning this year, so things like buckets, rags, outdoor brooms, etc will be quite helpful. If you have gardening or work gloves, bring those as well.
Why do we do Shine Day?
Shine Day is a unique opportunity for members of the Flood community and the KHS community to work together to care for our shared home. We also want to show our gratitude and support of the school custodians for all the work they do throughout the year to keep the campus clean. And we also believe that serving is one of the best ways to build community - don't miss this opportunity to meet someone new as we serve together!
That's everything you need to know for Saturday! See you there, and can't wait to SHINE with you!
