**We are currently accepting applications for our Graduate Intern Program. Our Undergraduate program will open up in the spring.**
We have two internship tracks geared towards people desiring hands on experience in a church ministry setting. No filling coffee cups or filing papers, these internships will allow you the opportunity to be an integral part of the Flood Staff! One track is part-time and reserved for college students, the other is full-time and aimed at people who would like to pursue (or are pursuing) full time ministry, including a seminary education. For all the details regarding the Flood Internship Program read the Q & A below. Applications can be downloaded on this page as well. If you have any questions feel free to contact the Intern Coordinator, Adam Klekowski at 858.268.2330 ex.307 or AdamK@DIVEintoFLOOD.com
The Flood Internship Program was created for three reasons. First, we are a church committed to training, equipping and empowering men and women to be effective leaders in the Church. The Church is in desperate need of qualified and gifted leaders to effectively lead her in the 21st century. Secondly, we are a rapidly growing church facing unique ministry challenges. We need capable, competent and committed men and women who can join the staff and serve the needs of the Flood body. Whether you have a passion for children, youth, college students, young adults, families, media, arts or administration, there is certainly a place for you to lead and serve at Flood! Lastly, Flood desires to pioneer a church planting movement. We hope that through these internships, leaders would emerge with a passion and ability to launch new "Floods" in other strategic cities.
Currently, we offer two Internship Programs. Each program has limited availability and begins in the fall of each academic year.
Undergraduate Internship
College can be an exciting and challenging time. The experiences are rich and life changing, and the decisions that you make will certainly impact your future for a lifetime. This program is specifically designed to help you become an effective minister and leader within your community, including the Church. While pursuing your education, you will be a part-time staff member at Flood. Though your job description at Flood will be vast and varied, the goal of the program is to help prepare you for whatever will come after college. You will be placed in an area of ministry of your choosing and be matched with Staff members for the year who will serve as your mentor and supervisor. Though this Internship is unpaid, we will gladly assist you in raising financial support to help cover any necessary expenses and/or provide you with some extra spending cash.
Graduate Internship
As one gets older, life seems to get more complicated. What do you want to do with your life? Where should you start your career? What type of legacy do you want to leave on this earth? This program is specifically designed for people seeking to go into full time ministry within a church context. Not only will you be an integral part of the leadership staff at Flood, you will also be gaining the necessary experience and skills to help prepare you to be a successful minister in today's changing world. We see these internships as a training ground to prepare you for leading effective ministries in the 21st century. Since Flood also desires to plant churches, we see this internship as integral for that training as well. Through a partnership with Bethel Seminary, you will be pursuing a Master's Degree and have the choice of a variety of degree programs (excluding Marriage & Family Therapy). While serving at Flood, you will be overseeing a ministry, as well as fulfilling a variety of roles and duties. This internship will certainly be challenging, as you will embark upon full time academic and ministerial pursuits. All Graduate Interns will be required to raise financial support to cover all educational and personal expenses. Flood will not only assist in helping you raise your support but will also contribute towards your education and living expenses.

The Flood Internship Exchange Program was created for two reasons: First, we are committed to training, equipping and empowering men and women in our local and global community to be effective leaders in the Church. Secondly, we see a unique and promising opportunity in connecting college leaders from Flood Malawi (our sister church plant) and Flood San Diego to each other’s ministry and culture. Our vision is to equip such leaders with new insights in ministry, cultural development and leadership skills. We hope that through this internship, leaders would emerge with a greater passion and ability to serve in their own unique contexts.
As an American Intern you will play an integral part in bringing a Malawian intern to Flood San Diego. A portion of your trip cost is for your counterpart’s fundraising, with whom you will communicate before and during the internship. This is to enrich and expand both of your experiences as you learn from one another. Our desire is for you to be a part of something much larger than your own story by impacting a life and the kingdom of God in another continent. You will live with your team on the campus of African Bible College in the capital city of Lilongwe, where Flood Malawi’s office is located, working alongside current ministries while facing the challenges of creating new ministries. You will also spend time in the ever-expanding urban centers of the city in addition to experiencing village life.
Dates: Mid June-Mid August
Costs: $6,200
